
Emma is an Articling Student and articles exclusively in the Family Law department. As an Articling Student, Emma is developing a thoughtful approach to family law that reflects both a broadening understanding of the legal principles at play and the realities clients face.
Emma was born and raised in Toronto. She received her B.A. Honours degree, with distinction, in Political Science at Laurier and her L.L.B. from the University of Sussex. Emma has completed her NCA accreditation and anticipates being called to the Bar in 2026 following the completion of her Articling term.
During law school, Emma was heavily involved in mooting which has inspired her passion for litigation. She participated in several internal and external Mooting competitions and was the winner of her university’s internal competition, with the final round adjudicated before Lord Stephens at the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. Following this competition, Emma was invited to represent her school in the ESU-Essex Court Chambers National Mooting Competition, judge the Junior Mooting competitions and complete two Mini Pupillages.
Additionally, Emma completed a dissertation on a comparative analysis of Canada and UK Law for the meaning of consent and sexual offences. She was the Executive Events Officer for the Canadian Student Law Society, and an active member of both the Law Society and Women in Law Society.
Outside of work Emma enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, including her two dogs and two cats. She also enjoys playing tennis and golf or doing Pilates and yoga.
