Melissa Hoppe – Associate
Melissa is dedicated to achieving lasting resolutions for each of her clients in a manner that reduces both the financial and emotional costs of separation. Her pragmatic approach the practice of family law leads her to reach negotiated settlements in most of her matters, but with experience before all levels of Court in Ontario, when necessary Melissa will not hesitate to aggressively litigate on behalf of her clients.
Melissa has experience representing clients in all aspects of family law, including high-conflict custody and access disputes, complex property and equalization claims, and child and spousal support matters. Melissa also regularly acts for clients in the negotiation of cohabitation and marriage contracts.
Melissa has practiced family law exclusively since her call to the bar in 2007. Prior to her call to the bar, Melissa articled at a full-service Bay Street law firm where she gained knowledge of tax and corporate law matters which regularly applies to her practice.
Melissa completed both her B.Sc. (Hons) in Psychology and her L.L.B. from the University of Western Ontario. Her keen interest in family law began while in law school, where she was awarded the CCH Canadian Limited Award for the Student with Highest Standing in Advanced Family Law.
