Drew is the senior real estate lawyer at Walker, Head. He is also the Chair of the firm’s Real Estate and Municipal Law Group. Drew’s areas of practice include commercial real estate, mortgage financing, expropriations, land planning and municipal law.
Drew represents a broad range of public and private sector clients, including real estate developers and government agencies. He has extensive experience in land development, plans of subdivision, land division and severances, minor variances and has appeared many times at the Ontario Municipal Board. Drew has acted for many clients who have had their properties expropriated by various government agencies including many clients who owned land in the Highway 407 corridor.
Drew has also been a faculty member at Durham College for over 22 years where he is a Professor and Co-coordinator of the Law Clerk Advanced Program until his retirement from the College in 2015.
Drew was an active member of the Kinsmen Clubs of Canada from 1984 to 2013. He served in many executive positions including being the president of the Kinsmen Clubs of Oshawa and St. Paul Alberta.
Drew’s dedication to teaching and to the field of real estate law has led to him being a well respected Professor and a first class real estate lawyer.
Walker Head is a member of the Durham Region Home Builders Association. Drew has been on the Board of Directors of the DRHBA since 2007.
